I am crucified with Christ therefore I no longer live,
Jesus Christ now lives in me.
Embrace the cross, the love, the life,
the cross of Jesus.

My feelings after the combined TYC was that God is gracious, the above image kept coming to my mind so I just drew it haha. After I dedicated my heart to God, He watched over me and there were victories. However to continually mould my heart to be like his was a painful process yet one which was full of joy and peace bearing in mind that I was walking in the Lord's way. The battles against my sinful nature intensified as God helped me crucify my sins one by one, the turmoil within me grew when I faced that biggest enemy. It took me a long long time, almost all the days of my life on earth; my resolve weakened, I had even given up many times before, getting so miserable over my inability to overcome this that the pain was indescribable.
Yet every time God took my heart out of the pits of misery and placed it under the shadow cast by the cross, there the shattered bits of my heart melted and re-formed to beat more like His!

Only He can fashion your heart to move as His.

"For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him... " 2 Chronicles 16:9

I thought the reason why I enjoyed the camp was because of the mutual support and encouragement which we provided each other with in such a big congregation of fellow believers.
Hymn singing, games time, fellowship, discussion, thoroughly enjoyed them!

Although, yes I have heard these truths mentioned in the sermon but God's Word is alive.
Every time I am exposed to God's word repetitively, it was never the same experience,
unless I am stiff necked and listened with preconceived ideas.
So I did much reflection and evaluation in the camp especially pertaining to what it means
for me to be a christian.

Some learning points:

We ought to be dead to sin.
Which means we can have no reaction to temptation and hence not sin. I think this can be explicitly illustrated by one of the dorm group's performance where this sister was 'mummified' to look like a corpse and said 'don't want' in a really comical way to every temptation which came her way.

HOWEVER, another scene came to my mind, is our response to God often this 'corpse-like' as well? It scares me, it really does.

We can only grow and live victoriously by being 'in Him'
We cannot possibly do something pleasing in the eyes of God which is of eternal value if it does not have God's stamp of approval. That brings me to the point that in all things we ought to seek first the will of God, His approval before we even go into planning, not vice versa which is the life of a 'practical atheist'.

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Colossians 2:6-7

We have both the given ability and choice to combat sin

In the book of Ephesians chapter 6, we have a spiritual armour to put on. Our offense is the 'sword of the spirit which is the word of God' directly quoting from the Bible. Hence, in all cases when we sin it is more often than not a foolish choice made on our part to blatantly disobey God and deny the fact that the salvation which we have received has already encompassed all aspects of our spiritual needs, including the means to overcome sin.

The crisis of belief: what has been, what is to be.

Is the old really gone? Will the new really come? FAITH is stepping into the unknown and letting God lead every step. PRAYER a means to communicate with God and practice complete dependence on Him.

Christianity : Christ-in-me-ity

When people first hear of you being a christian, what is their first reaction? As for me, I've come across these 3 types:
1) They mock at you
2) A church go-er
3) Christians are generally 'good' people.
I feel that it is true to a large extent that it is only when after you receive the truth, develop them into your convictions and translating them to the testimony of your life will the fact of you being a christian impact others. Only a life can influence a life, not outward devoutness.

Guess I'll continue on my next post, hah. Hope I can access my blog! I only managed to access my blog today after a prayer: "Lord, let me blog to recount your goodness" and ... what the I managed to access my blog after like countless tries since my last post, 4th or 6th june.. DDD

"You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."
John 15:3-4

How deep, unsearchable, overflowing, amazing, abundant, immeasurable, unthinkable!

Problems

Everyone has problems,
if you do not seem to notice another's problems,
you probably just do not realise it,
its the same with ourselves.

What matters is not the problem, but how you face it.
The problem is not the problem.
